The Director of Tax Operations leads the delivery of all aspects of the Groups consolidated tax reporting and compliance to its two owners, Blackstone and Thomson Reuters: Serve as the technical lead on a wide variety of complex income tax accounting issues, providing guidance in accordance with ASC 740 and effectively documenting and communicating requirements Responsible for all aspects of tax accounting for acquisitions and divestitures Prepares consolidated US GAAP and IFRS tax provision reporting and forecasting (tax balance sheet accounts, return to provision true ups, ETR, cash tax rate, tax provision) Manages preparation of US subsidiary tax provisions by co-sourced vendor Monitor emerging issues in US GAAP, IFRS, and SEC reporting to assess the impact on tax reporting Supports preparation of the US federal consolidated tax return and state tax returns by co-sourced vendor Responsible for certain US international tax compliance obligations of Refinitiv group companies Responsible for integrating Canada/LATAM tax provisions prepared by outside vendor into the overall global tax provision Develop analytical processes for long term ETR and cash tax planning as required, including potential M&A activity Responsible for tracking and reporting for all uncertain tax position Support building the processes and calendar to ensure a smooth connection among accounting, treasury, F&P, and tax Accountability for maintenance of and compliance with SOX controls related to taxes Education 12+ years of experience with ASC 740 in a multinational corporate tax environment Undergraduate or advanced degree in accounting with a focus on tax Operative understanding of tax cycle from planning thru audit Experience with the tax accounting impact of complex transactions Experience working within a complex provision process Understanding of accounting systems Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS accounting frameworks and their interactions for tax reporting purposes Ability to explain and advocate complex tax accounting positions Good interpersonal skills, including the ability and desire to communicate, collaborate, and coordinate with finance and non-finance colleagues The Financial and Risk Business of Thomson Reuters is now Refinitiv.
